Because we receive federal funding from HUD (Housing and Urban Development) we prioritize our hiring efforts in accordance to Section 3 of the HUD guidelines. A part of our mission at Bremerton Housing Authority (BHA) is to help Kitsap County and Bremerton residents become economically self sufficient. Your chances of being hired with us increases if you qualify under Section 3.

Anyone seeking priority processing for employment opportunities at BHA shall certify, or submit evidence, if requested, that they qualify for Section 3. (Examples of evidence to qualify for the priority are documentation showing receipt of public assistance, evidence of participation in a public housing program or W2’s showing income.) Priority processing does not assure the applicant will meet qualifications for the position and does not guarantee a job offer.

In order to pre-determine if you may qualify under Section 3, we have provided a list of five reasons to how you may qualify. You may qualify by:

1.Receiving housing supplements or Section 8 vouchers within the last two years
2.Or Resident of a low income housing complex within the last two years
3.Or Participated in a Youth Build program within the last two years
4.Or Been homeless within the last two years
5.Or Live in Kitsap County and meet HUD’s low income limits for the last two years:
